Manhattan BridgeAs seen from Brooklyn, the Manhattan bridge, designed by Leon Moisseiff, opened to traffic on December 31, 1909. It is noted for its innovative design as the first suspension bridge to incorporate deflection theory for the stiffening its deck. The Manhattan Bridge is considered to be the forerunner of modern suspension bridges and served as the model for many of the long-span suspension bridges built since.
Brothers In ArmsThis monument, located at Liberty State Park, NJ is by Nathan Rapoport and depicts an American soldier carrying a concentration camp survivor. New York city and the Freedom tower serves as the backdrop to this powerful image.
