Skaters Central Park Wollman Rink

Photograph of skaters at Wollman Rink in Central Park, late afternoon. Wollman Rink was opened in the southern part of Central Park in 1949. The rink, a favorite with tourists and New Yorkers, is traditionally open from November - March for ice skating. Originally financed by Kate Wollman, it is now operated by the Trump organization. During the summer months it is the site of Victorian Gardens Amusement Park. Also known as the Trump Rink, it is located on the East side of Central Park between 62 and 63 streets. Be sure to check the Central Park website for the current hours if you are planning to skate.

Wollman Rink NYC In Autumn

A view of the Wollman Ice Skating Rink (aka Trump Skating Rink) in Central Park New York City. A vista of skaters on the ice surrounded by the beautiful peak fall foliage colors of Central Park with the NYC skyscrapers of Fifth Avenue n the background. Wollman Rink was opened in 1949 thanks to generous funding from Kate Wollman who wanted to honor her family. Closed in 1980 for long-term renovation, it was reopened in 1986 by Donald Trump who provided the funding to complete the work that had been halted due to insufficient funds. The rink is now operated under the Trump Organization and is renamed the Trump Ice Skating Rink. The public rink is open for skating approximately late October through April. In summer the Trump Rink hosts the Victoria Gardens Amusement Park. To view more scenes from Central Park in autumn, please visit my New York City Central Park gallery.
